i took this photo in one of the most picturesque cities of mexico: guanajuato. it is a world heritage site because of its vibrantly coloured houses climbing the hill like a multi-coloured cubist painting. though a lovely city to be, i went searching for some scruffyness amidst all this picture-perfect pretty and found it while wandering through the tiny streets and dark alleys uphill behind the center, following a pizza courier climbing what seemed to be a million stairs. i don’t know exactly why i was so relieved to find something that wasn’t perfect.

Hey there, I'm Lau. Originally Dutch, travelling the world like a nomad. I try to be open and appreciative towards the splendour of the places that I see and the people that I meet, wherever I may find myself. Some think I'm slow. Compared to some other travellers, indeed I like to take my time. Also at home, I believe in a somewhat slower lifestyle. If you're into that, I invite you to armchair journey with me!
